There are stringent quarantine procedures for pets going into Australia. Dogs and cats form the UK must go into quarantine for 30 days. You will be liable for all quarantine costs, (the cost does go down for additional animals) and any additional veterinary care that may be required.
Certain breeds of ìdangerousî dogs, including pit-bull terriers, cannot be taken into the country. Your pets will have to be micro-chipped and you will have to provide vaccination certificates for a range of common diseases. Animals may arrive in Australia only via Sydney, Melbourne or Perth airports. The department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (www.affa.gov.au) is responsible for all matters.
TransFur is a dedicated pet relocation service able to make all necessary travel arrangements for your pet world wide.
We can arrange for collection and delivery to your new home from most airports. Alternatively we are able to recommend kennels/catteries known personally to us.
So, you're finally off to sunnier climes and you're emigrating somewhere more pleasant, with real Summers (emigration does have a serious upside to it) to Australia!
But - hang on just one cotton pickin' moment! - What about the family pet?
Rover or Tom just might want to upgrade nationalities as well and emigrate with you. Wherever you're going we can probably help.
