Singapore Airlines leaves a positive lasting impression. Their service is superb and their menu is excellent considering it is airline food. If you have a special dietry requirement for health or religous reasons this will be catered for along with food for children and babies. Inflight entertainment will keep adults and children amused for the whole duration of the flight; they have movies, tv programmes, sports, current affairs & business news. They even have built in office software to create documents, speedsheets and presentations - just bring your own usb and keyboard. There are a choice of games form Nintento in Multiplayer or single player mode (very addictive), there is a CD library of 60 albums if you want to listen to music or there are several radio channels to choose from.
And if you are stopping over in another country for a few days on the way to Australia then you can even brush up on your language skills and explore the destination on your tv. One final thing...Singapore airport, should you choose to go via Singapore, is one of the best in the world, so if you are going to be waiting anywhere for a couple of hours this is a great airport to be waiting at! A little tip, when you stop for refuelling and have entered the airport, turn right for the bar or head upstairs for the gym and swimming pool!

Virgin Atlantic have only recently started flying to Australia, hence they are using their new Airbus A380 for the journeys. We have only heard positive feedback, including more room, the latest entertainment, lovely and clean / fresh, price is competitive and service is excellent. One passenger who travels frequently between the UK to Australia will only travel with Virgin now instead of Qantus and BA "Theres no comparison".
Of course the entertainemnt also consists of the latest movies, TV programmes, sports, kids TV, news, etc and their games console has up to 35 games on offer! And to top it off, they even have video-on-demand so you can pause, fast-forward or rewind, just like at home! If you prefer to listen to music then they have more than 12 different stations playing beats from the Sugababes to Stevie Wonder.
Their food is also excellent and are able to cater for special dietry requirements (notice is required). You will receive an amenity kit including eyeshades, earplugs, toothbrush & toothpaste and socks. The kids get a little something extra...the K-id BackPack with lots of goodies for them to keep and amuse them, they even have a kiddies menu including fish-fingers, pizza and chocolate!
